In 2027, Nyepi, Bali's Day of Silence, will be on March 8th. It's a 24-hour period of complete stillness and reflection unique tor the Balinese Hindu population, with no travel, work, entertainment, or lights allowed. Its amazing to experience. Leave your backpackers image of Kuta behind you! and forget the resort package holidays you find in the travel agent. Bali has it all, culture, beaches, great food, sun, atmospheric hotels and all with a Balinese smile. It is the perfect mix of luxury, relaxation, and stimulation for a 14 day break in the warmth, and this is why we run this trip so often, with some people returning time after time. This trip is great for solo travellers as there is NO single supplement you can have a room on your own. Bali is also a good introduction to "Outside the Square" and how it feels and works before embarking on more challenging trips. This trip is full of treats and surprises and the feedback is usually "WOW!" never thought Bali was like this. This is a great time of year to visit Bali, kids are back in school and it is timed to escape the worst of the northern hemisphere winter. The weather is mostly fine with just the odd showers in the afternoon, but very pleasant. We have found some charming local hotels central to the attractions of beach, restaurants, and things to do. There is freedom to explore on your own, or indulge at the beach, shopping, or walking. Surfing, snorkeling, cooking, or other courses are easy to arrange for those interested. Arrival day You can arrive anytime on this day, with easy, clear, instructions of how to get from the airport to the hotel. We will be waiting to greet you. Feel free to add a day or to and arrive early should you wish. Seminyak South (3 nights) We start our trip in Seminyak, and our hotel which backs right onto the beach. Restaurants, and evening Gay friendly bars are walking distance. There is time for beach, shopping, and included in our trip is an amazing massage at a Men's only Spa. Amed (3 nights) We head to the north-east coast, stopping along the way at the Royal water gardens, a pristine beach for our lunch, and a traditional village before reaching the fishing village of Amed. Our hotel is right on the beach and the snorkeling is right there to enjoy. The small fishing village is close by, as are some lovely restaurants and a view point where we can watch the sun setting over the volcano in the background. Northern Bali is much less explored, by most tourists, but its a gem and you won't want to leave. Our secret retreat in the countryside (3 nights) Private, secluded, and utterly fabulous, 12 villas around a central pool and surrounded by rice paddies. Our chance to connect with country life, and explore the cultural highlands. Walk through the rice fields and chill by the pool. (We will get to experience NYEPI the day of silence while we are here, and I can think of nothing nicer) Ubud (2 nights) You will probably be craving a bit of city vibe by now, and we will spend the next 2 nights in the heart of Ubud, and our charming, centrally located local hotel. Each day there is the option of a walk (we know some lovely ones) or feel free to explore the art markets, monkey forest, and temples. There is the option of a morning cooking class, and included is a walk through the rice paddies with lunch and a blissful massage. Sanur (2 nights) Sanur has a very different feel to where we started our adventure back in Seminyak, there are wonderful beach restaurants, and long boardwalks walks along the beach under palm tree shade. Its a great way to finish this holiday with time to relax a little after all the adventures. Departure day Our hotel in Sanur is conveniently located for a short ride back to the airport. You will leave knowing you have seen the very best of Bali. Your flight can be at any time today, or stay on for a few days resort time on this wonderful island. Indonesia and Bali can be a ''full on'' experience for the uninitiated and it's easy to be overwhelmed when you first arrive, I will help you to find the best places right at the beginning, insuring you get to enjoy the best the island has to offer. As with all our trips you have to let go of the concept you're signing up for a tour, you're not, you're coming on an adventure , yes its a semi structured adventure with all the hard work done, but it's nevertheless a adventure. Things will go wrong some days, and changes adapted too, you will need your wits about you, and to expect to do some exploring on your own occasionally.

Our local hotels are lovely with a Bali flavour, and there is No single supplement. Couples or friends sharing will be upgraded to a bigger room when available.
