South Africa: Cape and Kruger Adventure
This is a trip for those who enjoy taking the rough with the smooth, whilst enjoying a high value experience. Includes a 3 night 2 Day wilderness walk in the Kruger park.
So many OTS gay adventurers have requested this trip run again, and it's going to be a popular one. This is a country where it's very easy to pay US$1000+ a night for a luxury game lodge, but also it's also possible to see all the same wildlife and stay in comfortable accommodation for far less.
South Africa has it all, the vistas of Table Mountain and the wild Cape coast, the Winelands around Stellenbosch, the expanses of the Karoo, the accessible game viewing of the Kruger National Park, and all with great roads, superb food and wine, and comfortable accomodation. This is one of the most affordable South Africa Tours.
PLEASE NOTE THIS ITINERARY MAY RUN IN REVERSE in 2019
Arrival day in Capetown with a pick up at the airport and time to chill out and orientate yourself before a meal out, and early evening to get help over the long flight.
A great few day exploring the Cape Town region, the wineries of Stellenbosch, and the many dramatic landscapes towards Cape point. Each day we will head off in a different direction using our central B&B in the charming Waterkant district as our city base.
Cape Town is very ''Gay friendly'' and there are a couple of nice evening bars and venues that we can visit before we head north for our ''Out of Africa'' game safari.
Today we pack our bags and head to the airport for our flight to Nelspruit the gateway city to the Kruger National Park. We pick up our Van at the airport and overnight in at our charming Nelspruit accomodation.
Day 8 -10
After breakfast we head off west to the southern entrance of the Kruger park, and game spot, as we head to the starting location for our 3 night 2 day walking wilderness walk, one of the great African experiences. There are only 8 tents in our bush camp, its twin share and our food will be cooked by the cook and we walk with our armed guide, spotting game and birds on our walks, and listening to the sounds of Africa in the evenings under canvas and around the fire. All our meals are included on this section of the trip.
After breakfast we will say goodbye to our guide and bush camp before driving north through the National Park, game spotting on the way to Olifants Camp, and our last 2 nights in the Kruger. Here we have a wonderfully located accomodation perched high on a cliff overlooking the bend in the river. This camp is self catering and we will make our own breakfasts and enjoy a braai (BBQ) or eat at the parks restaurant. There are morning and evening game drives organised by the park rangers from the camps base at a modest charge.
Today we pack up and game drive through the park exiting at one of the northern gates, before driving back to Nelspruit and our final night. Goodbye dinner.
Our final day and a drop off at Nelspruit airport to connect with your homeward bound flight,
South Africa remains one of my all time favorite destinations, it is unrivalled in its scenic beauty, the people are warm and friendly, Gay rights are written into the constitution, and the game parks are accessible and spectacular. This adventure combines the affordability and value my trips are known for, with some great treats, food and accomodation.
Register to be first to hear about the release of this gay adventure trip as we have only 7 places.
