South Africa "Wilderness" a Cape and Kruger Adventure.
"To say I am excited about this trip is the understatement of the year. This trip which we ran in 2019 was just amazing, it has 3 of my favorite things, walks in the bush and camping under the African sky, game drives on a private reserve, and the wines food, and the sights of Capetown" So many OTS adventurers have requested this trip run again, and it's going to be a popular one. This is a country where it's very easy to pay US$1000+ a night for a luxury game lodge, but also it's also possible to see all the same wildlife and stay in lovely comfortable accommodation for far less. South Africa has it all, the vistas of Table Mountain and the wild Cape coast, the Winelands around Stellenbosch, the expanses of the Karoo, the accessible game viewing of the Kruger National Park, and all with great roads, superb food and wine, and comfortable accommodation. Day 1- 2 Arrival day in Nelspruit with a pickup at the airport and time to chill out, and orientate yourself at our lovely B&B. Day 2-4 After breakfast we head west to the southern entrance of the Kruger Park, and look for game, as we head to the starting pickup location for our 3 night 2 day “wilderness walk” one of the great Kruger park experiences. There are only 8 twin bed tents in our bush camp, our food will be prepared by the cook, and we walk with our armed guide, spotting game and birds on our daily walks. Surrounded by the sounds of Africa, and evenings around the fire. All our meals are included on this section of the trip. Day 5-6 After breakfast we will say goodbye to our guide and bush camp and transfer back to the main camp to pick up our vehicle and driving north through the National Park, game spotting on the way. We have one more night in the Kruger park at one of the iconic national park camps. Day 7-8 Today we leave the park and go exploring the "Blyth river canyon" one of the wonders of Southern Africa and staying in our lovely lodge in the heart of the area. Day 8 Today we head to the airport for our flight from Nelspruit the city of Capetown and one of the world’s most iconic city locations. We pick up our Van at the airport and settle into our charming accommodation in the heart of the Waterkant area. Day 9-13 A great few days exploring the Cape Town region, the wineries of Stellenbosch, and the many dramatic landscapes towards Cape point. Each day we will head off in a different direction, using our central B&B as our city base. The food is exquisite and the wine even better. Day 14 Our final day and it’s a free time day and time to do some last min shopping before a drop off at Capetown airport to connect with your homeward bound flight, or fly up to see the great Victoria falls with our great value addon package. Highlights in Capetown include
South Africa remains one of my all time favourite destinations, it is unrivalled in its scenic beauty, the people are warm and friendly, Gay rights are written into the constitution, and the game parks are accessible and spectacular. This adventure combines the affordability and value my trips are known for, with some great treats, food and accommodation. Register to be first to hear about the release of this gay friendly adventure trip we have only 7 places as the "wilderness camp has a max of 8 guests.. As with all OTS gay friendly trips you have to let go of the concept you're signing up for a tour, you're not, you're coming on an adventure , yes its a semi structured adventure with all the hard work done but it is nevertheless a adventure, things will go wrong some days, and changes need to be adapted too, you will need your wits about you, and to expect to do some exploring on your own. VICTORIA FALLS ADDON For many people a once in a lifetime trip to Africa would not be complete without the inclusion of a chance to see the mighty Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. This is possible to do as an add-on package, either before, or after our OTS trip. I would not be able to join you, but as a package, (like the one I have arranged for you below) its easy, and if you do it at the end of our trip you will be super confident with how life in Africa works. 3 nights package staying at the amazing Victoria Falls Safari Lodge.
